College Residence Volunteers
Those interested in volunteering at our College Residence need to successfully complete a thorough criminal background, reference check as required by licensing authority, volunteer training and complete all necessary documents. Must present positive professional image for organization.
Our College Residence is located on the campus of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina:
- Childcare: Assists with short-term care of client children by providing safe nurturing care for up to the age of 4 years old while MiraVia mothers attend class or other obligations. Must follow all MiraVia guidelines and rules.

- Facility: Assists with the upkeep, repair and day-to-day operations of the College Residence and grounds according to our current needs. Such duties might include:
- Clean and/or organize
- Assist with landscaping and yard work (watering, weeding, cutting grass, gardening, planting flowers, etc.)
- Help conduct scheduled maintenance (replacing air filters, cleaning gutters, etc.)
- Sort and organize material donations
- Facility: Assists with the upkeep, repair and day-to-day operations of the College Residence and grounds according to our current needs. Such duties might include:
- Teaching: Assists with tutoring MiraVia mothers with their college studies and/or providing life-skills classes on topics or themes such as:
- Parenting: parenting preparation classes, stages of growth in infants, children and adolescents, day-to-day care of infants, children and adolescents, disciplinary techniques for infants, children and adolescents, childcare.
- Life-skills: education planning, job seeking, locating housing, money management, decision making, food management, health education.
- Stress management
- Substance abuse
- Pregnancy prevention
Outreach Center Volunteers
Our Outreach Center is located at 810 Tyvola Road, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28217:
- Facility: Assists with day-to-day operations at the Outreach Center. Such duties might include:
- Front desk receptionist
- Clean and/or organize
- Sort and organize material donations
- Assemble gift bags for new clients
Other Ways to Volunteer at MiraVia
- Host a diaper or baby goods drive.
- Hold a yard sale, party or other event to benefit MiraVia.
- Make or collect holiday gifts for our clients and their children (Easter, Mother’s Day, Christmas).
- Donate your clean, gently used items: clothing, toys, baby supplies, cribs, strollers, car seats, etc. Check out our current Wish List needs (link to the Drop-offs & Wish List webpage).
